What this race demands
The 136 km road ride demands sustained aerobic output and careful pacing over a long distance. With elevation gain unstated, the amount of climbing cannot be assessed.
Sustained endurance
Covering 136 km requires maintaining a manageable effort for several hours, rather than relying on short bursts of power.
Pacing discipline
A steady pace helps preserve capacity across the full distance; the stated facts do not establish how much climbing or terrain variation to expect.
Fueling over distance
The ride is likely to last more than 2.5 hours, so riders need to take in carbohydrate consistently rather than wait until they feel depleted.
For a ride likely to exceed 2.5 hours, aim for about 60–90 g of carbohydrate per hour, adjusted to what you have practised tolerating.
