1. Overview
IntervalCoach ("the Service") is an AI-powered training assistant operated by Russchen Media ("we", "the Operator"). By creating an account or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms of Use.
2. Service Description
IntervalCoach generates personalized cycling, running, swimming, walking, hiking, and strength workouts using artificial intelligence. The Service connects to your Intervals.icu account to access training data and provides:
- AI-generated workout recommendations
- Training plan periodization
- Post-workout analysis
- AI coaching chat (Coach+)
- Training analytics and insights
IntervalCoach is a training planning tool. It is not medical advice, not a medical device, and not a substitute for a qualified coach or physician. See section 13 for the full assumption-of-risk and disclaimer terms that apply to your use of the Service.
3. Account and Authentication
Access to IntervalCoach requires an Intervals.icu account. You authenticate via OAuth, and your Intervals.icu credentials are never stored by IntervalCoach. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for keeping your registration details accurate. Please notify us promptly at coach@intervalcoach.app if you become aware of any unauthorized use of your account.
You may delete your account and all associated data at any time through the Settings page on the web app, the iOS app, or the Android app. You can also download a copy of your data from your account settings.
3.1 Age requirement
IntervalCoach is intended for users aged 18 and over. If you are under 18, you may use the Service only with the explicit consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian. We may suspend or terminate any account where we have reason to believe the user is under 18 without parental consent.
4. Subscription Plans
IntervalCoach offers Free, Pro, and Max plans. The features, limits, and current prices for each plan are shown on our pricing page and may change over time as described in section 17.
New users receive a 14-day Pro trial at no cost. After the trial, the account reverts to the Free plan unless a paid subscription is started.
5. Payments and Billing
5.1 Web subscriptions (Stripe)
Subscriptions purchased on the website are processed by Stripe. Prices are listed in EUR. Subscriptions auto-renew at the end of each billing period (monthly or yearly) unless canceled before the renewal date.
You can manage your web subscription, change plans, or cancel through the Settings page or the Stripe customer portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; no further charges will apply.
5.2 iOS app subscriptions (Apple App Store)
Subscriptions purchased through the iOS app are processed by Apple via In-App Purchase. Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase.
- Subscriptions auto-renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.
- You can manage and cancel subscriptions in your device's Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions.
- Any unused portion of a free trial period is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.
5.3 Android app subscriptions (Google Play)
Subscriptions purchased through the Android app are processed by Google via Google Play Billing. Payment is charged to your Google account at confirmation of purchase.
- Subscriptions auto-renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- You can manage and cancel subscriptions in the Google Play Store under Payments & subscriptions > Subscriptions.
- Any unused portion of a free trial period is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.
5.4 Cross-platform
Web, iOS, and Android subscriptions are separate billing systems. A subscription purchased on one platform is not managed by the others. Your subscription tier is recognized across all platforms regardless of where it was purchased.
6. Right of Withdrawal (EU consumers)
If you are a consumer resident in the European Union, you have a statutory right under Directive 2011/83/EU and Article 6:230o of the Dutch Civil Code to withdraw from a paid subscription within 14 days of purchase, without giving any reason and without penalty.
To exercise this right, email coach@intervalcoach.app within 14 days of your first paid charge. The Service starts as soon as you subscribe, with your express consent, so where you withdraw we refund the unused part of your current billing period on a pro-rata basis, using the same payment method you used for the purchase.
Important — waiver: if at the time of purchase you expressly request that the Service start immediately, and you acknowledge that you will lose your right of withdrawal once the Service has been fully performed within the 14-day period, this right may not apply for that period. The 14-day Pro trial is provided free of charge and does not affect your withdrawal right with respect to the first paid billing period.
7. Refunds and Cancellation
You can cancel your subscription at any time (see section 5). Cancellation stops future renewals, and your access continues until the end of the period you have already paid for.
After the 14-day withdrawal period in section 6 has passed, we do not refund the remaining time on a subscription you have already paid for — including the discounted annual plan, which is offered at a reduced rate in exchange for committing to a full year. We may still grant a refund at our discretion, for example for minimal use or genuine hardship; contact us at coach@intervalcoach.app.
This does not affect your statutory rights, including the 14-day right of withdrawal in section 6, your rights where the Service does not conform to what you paid for (Dutch Civil Code 7:50aa et seq.), or any refund owed where a charge was made in clear error.
For subscriptions purchased through the iOS App Store or Google Play, refunds are handled by Apple and Google respectively — request a refund through Apple's Report a Problem page or the Google Play Store.
8. AI-Generated Content
Workouts, coaching advice, analyses, and recovery scores are generated by artificial intelligence systems. While we strive for accuracy and safety, AI-generated content may contain errors, may be inappropriate for your specific condition on any given day, and is not a substitute for medical or professional coaching advice. You should:
- Use your own judgment when following workout recommendations;
- Skip, modify, or substitute any session that feels wrong for your current condition;
- Stop any workout that causes pain or discomfort and seek medical attention if the symptoms are serious;
- Consult a healthcare professional for health-related concerns.
The detailed assumption-of-risk and limitation-of-liability terms in section 13 apply to all AI-generated content.
9. Data and Privacy
Your use of IntervalCoach is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your data, including the legal bases under the GDPR, your data subject rights, and how training and health data are processed.
10. Intellectual Property
IntervalCoach — including its software, design, text, graphics, logos, and the IntervalCoach and Russchen Media names and trademarks — is owned by Russchen Media or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for your own personal training, and not for any commercial purpose. Except where the law allows otherwise, you may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, reverse-engineer, or create derivative works from the Service, and you may not remove any proprietary notices.
Third-party names and trademarks (for example Intervals.icu, Whoop, Apple, and Google) remain the property of their respective owners and are used only for identification.
11. Your Content
The Service lets you create and share content, such as chat messages with Coach+, profile information, club posts, and shared activity pages ("Your Content").
You keep ownership of Your Content. You grant Russchen Media a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, and display Your Content solely to operate, provide, and improve the Service — for example to show a shared activity page to the people you share it with, or to run a club feed. This license ends when you delete the content or your account, apart from copies kept briefly in routine backups or where we are required to keep them by law. We do not sell Your Content. This license is subject to our Privacy Policy; in particular, we do not use Your Content to train third-party AI models.
You are responsible for Your Content and confirm you have the rights to share it. We may remove content that breaches these Terms or the law.
12. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose;
- Post or share content that is unlawful, harmful, harassing, abusive, defamatory, hateful, or that infringes someone else's rights;
- Impersonate any person or misrepresent your affiliation with anyone;
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or its systems;
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service;
- Share your account credentials with others;
- Use automated tools to access the Service beyond normal usage.
Good-faith security research carried out in line with our vulnerability disclosure program, and reported to security@intervalcoach.app, is permitted and is an exception to the restriction above on accessing our systems.
12.1 Suspension and termination by the Operator
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if you breach these Terms, engage in fraudulent payment behavior, abuse the Service, or use it in a way that risks harm to yourself or others. We will notify you by email unless immediate suspension is necessary to protect users or the Service. Termination does not affect amounts owed for service already provided, and does not waive your statutory rights as a consumer.
13. Assumption of Risk, Disclaimers, and Limitation of Liability
13.1 Inherent risks of exercise
Physical exercise carries inherent risks, including (but not limited to) musculoskeletal injury, cardiovascular events, heat illness, dehydration, and in rare cases serious injury or death. These risks exist regardless of whether training is self-directed, prescribed by a human coach, or recommended by a software service. By using IntervalCoach you acknowledge that you understand these risks and that you choose to exercise voluntarily.
13.2 Not medical advice
IntervalCoach is a training planning and analytics tool. It is not a medical device, and the workouts, analyses, recovery scores, and coaching messages it produces are general training suggestions based on the data available to it — not a clinical assessment.
Before you start using IntervalCoach for structured training — and especially before any high-intensity session — you should consult a physician if any of the following apply to you: you have or have had a heart condition; you experience chest pain, dizziness, or unusual shortness of breath during exertion; you take medication that affects heart rate or blood pressure; you are recovering from an injury or surgery; or you are 35 or older and have not exercised regularly in the past year.
Stop any workout immediately and seek medical attention if you experience chest pain, severe shortness of breath, dizziness, fainting, or any symptom that feels seriously wrong.
13.3 No reliance and AI limitations
Workouts and analyses are generated by artificial intelligence systems that can produce inaccurate, inappropriate, or unsafe recommendations in any given case. You must use your own judgement before, during, and after each session. If a recommended workout feels wrong for your current condition, skip it, modify it, or substitute an easier session.
13.4 Limitation of liability
Subject to section 13.5, and to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:
- IntervalCoach is provided on an "as available" basis. The Operator does not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for any particular training goal.
- The Operator is not liable for loss of training data, missed workouts, missed performance goals, or damage to third-party equipment caused by Service unavailability.
- The Operator's aggregate liability arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service is limited to the greater of (i) EUR 250 or (ii) the total amount you paid the Operator for the Service in the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
13.5 Rights that cannot be limited
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes any liability that cannot be limited or excluded under applicable law. In particular:
- liability for death or personal injury caused by the Operator's negligence or intent;
- liability for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation;
- consumer rights under the laws of the European Union and the country where you ordinarily reside, including any mandatory consumer-protection rights.
If you are a consumer resident in the European Union, you retain all statutory rights that cannot be waived by contract, and you may bring proceedings in the courts of your country of residence in accordance with EU Regulation 1215/2012 (Brussels I bis).
14. Service Availability
We aim to keep IntervalCoach available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service may be temporarily unavailable for maintenance, updates, or circumstances beyond our control. Section 13 governs liability for any downtime.
15. Third-Party Integrations
IntervalCoach works together with third-party services, including Intervals.icu, Whoop, Apple Health, Google, and our AI providers, to deliver its features. We do not control these services and are not responsible for their availability, accuracy, functionality, or security. Your use of a connected service is also governed by that provider’s own terms and privacy policy, and a connected service may change or stop working in ways that affect IntervalCoach.
16. Severability and Indemnification
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, it will be limited or removed to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will stay in full force and effect.
16.1 Indemnification
To the extent permitted by law, and except where mandatory consumer-protection rules provide otherwise, you agree to cover reasonable costs and third-party claims that arise from Your Content or from your breach of these Terms. Nothing in this section limits your statutory rights as a consumer.
17. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We post the updated Terms on this page and update the "Last updated" date. Changes take effect when they are posted and apply to your continued use of the Service.
If a change increases the price of your existing subscription or materially reduces your rights, we will tell you by email before it applies to you, and you may cancel before it takes effect. If you have prepaid for a period beyond that date, we refund the unused part on a pro-rata basis. For subscriptions billed through Apple or Google, their own rules for price changes and consent also apply.
18. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands. Disputes will be brought before the competent courts in the Netherlands, subject to your statutory consumer rights under section 13.5(c) to bring proceedings in the courts of your country of residence within the European Union.
