Best HYROX Training Apps in 2026

HYROX asks two things of an app at once: the eight stations, and eight kilometres of running between them. Here is every credible option, compared on how it handles both halves and what it costs. We build IntervalCoach, and we will tell you plainly where a HYROX specialist serves you better.

The format is unusually specific. Eight one-kilometre runs, each followed by one station, in a fixed order, finishing on a hundred wall balls with your legs already gone. That means a plan has to hold two qualities together: running that stays honest under fatigue, and station work you can repeat when your heart rate is already high. Most apps are strong at one half and borrow the other.

This guide compares what HYROX athletes actually use. We build IntervalCoach, so we say so, and we describe every rival on what it genuinely does. Prices are accurate as of September 2026; check the vendor's own site before you subscribe, because they move.

Two questions that narrow it down fast

Is HYROX the whole plan, or one race in a bigger year?

If HYROX is the sport you do, a specialist wins. ROXFIT is built for it and nothing else, with race splits, results comparison and the vocabulary of the format throughout. If HYROX is one race among a season that also has running, riding or a triathlon in it, a specialist leaves you managing two apps and two versions of your training load. That is the case IntervalCoach is built for.

Do you want a plan, or a coach that changes its mind?

Most HYROX apps hand you a programme and adjust it periodically, or when you miss something. IntervalCoach reads your overnight recovery each morning and decides what today should be before you see it, which matters more in a format where the stations punish a session you were not ready for. If your week is predictable and you like following a programme, that machinery is worth less to you.

The serious options

Each of these is a real answer for a HYROX athlete. They differ in which half of the format they were built around.

Also worth knowing

One newer hybrid-specific app, and the platform a lot of this data ends up in.

Edge HybridSee site

Built for hybrid events rather than adapted from a running plan, which is the right instinct for this format. Newer and smaller than the options above, and worth a look if you want a hybrid-native programme.

Where IntervalCoach fits

This is the app we build, so here is the specific claim rather than a general one. IntervalCoach is the pick when HYROX is one of the things you train for and you want a single coach across all of it. You set a HYROX race as your goal from a calendar that carries the full 2026/27 season, and your plan builds toward it out of running and station work, rebuilt each morning from your overnight recovery, resting heart rate and sleep. The eight stations are real sessions you can ask for by name, at €3 to €8 a month, alongside the running, riding, swimming and strength you already do.

If HYROX is your only sport and you want race splits, a results database and an app that speaks nothing else, ROXFIT is the better tool and we would rather you used it. If you want station work led by a physiologist's periodisation, Athletica is a strong answer. Two things we do not do yet: run-into-station transitions as one session, and pacing predictions per station. Both are on the roadmap, and neither is in the product today.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best app for HYROX training in 2026?

It depends on whether HYROX is your only sport. ROXFIT is the specialist and the strongest choice for a HYROX-only athlete, with race splits, live tracking and three million analysed races behind it. Athletica is strong if you want station work inside formal periodisation. IntervalCoach is the pick when HYROX is one race in a broader endurance year and you want one coach that adapts daily across running, station work and whatever else you train.

Can IntervalCoach train me for a HYROX?

Yes. Set a HYROX race as your goal event from the built-in calendar, which carries the full 2026/27 season including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Sanya, Hong Kong and Taipei, and your plan builds toward that date. You can ask for the eight stations as a session in race order, or a shorter hybrid-strength session covering grip, loaded lunges and wall balls. The running side is planned and adapted the same way it is for any runner.

Does IntervalCoach do the HYROX stations?

Yes, as strength sessions. Ask for a HYROX or hybrid session and you get SkiErg, sled push, sled pull, burpee broad jumps, rowing, farmers carry, sandbag lunges and wall balls in race order, with prescriptions and coaching cues. What it does not yet do is chain a run and a station into one session, which is the compromised-running quality the race actually tests. That is on the roadmap.

How is training for HYROX different from training for a 10K?

The running is only half of it, and it is running you do eight times with a station in between each one. A 10K plan builds one quality. A HYROX plan has to build running that survives fatigue plus the strength endurance to push a sled and hold a carry after your heart rate is already high, without either half stealing so much recovery that the other stops improving. That balance is why a hybrid plan is harder to write than a single-sport one.

How much does a HYROX training app cost?

ROXFIT is free to download. Athletica is around $19.90 a month and Runna around $19.99. IntervalCoach is €3 for Pro and €8 for Max, which covers running, riding, swimming and strength together, with a 14-day trial and no card required. Check each vendor's own site, because prices change.

Do I need a gym with all eight HYROX stations?

No, and most athletes do not have one. The stations that need specific equipment are the sleds and the ergs; the rest is a sandbag, a wall ball, dumbbells and space. Athletica adapts its plans to the equipment you actually own, and IntervalCoach's station session tells you the prescription rather than assuming a full HYROX-affiliated facility. Affiliated gyms with the full setup are now widespread in most HYROX markets if you want to rehearse the real thing.

I've been using IntervalCoach daily for more than six months. IC uses AI to provide adaptive training plans, detailed workouts, readiness, load management, etc. All of this is packaged in an attractive and intuitive UI. IC has helped me develop a long term plan (and stick to that plan!) for future A-races. […] This app provides the best combo of functionality, speed of development and affordability.

The App is made for athletes. Very good overview of all helpful details, when you start in a new training day (sleep, HRV, mood, etc. is analyzed and your training plan adapted if needed e.g. if HRV is low or you had a bad sleep). […] For me it is the best App on the market so far!

That's really impressive, tackling all of these things so quickly! Good luck finding that level of support from a big company like Google or Strava.

awesome app. work in progress, but the developer is incredibly fast at introducing new features and fixing bugs. there are a lot of options out there with AI trainers, but I'll be sticking to this one due to the amazing features and customer support.

I traditionally struggle with systems because I compete in multi-day, non-stop adventure racing events and these systems tend to focus on one discipline or are more triathlon-focused. […] What I appreciate about intervalcoach is that the coach+ system has been good at trying to work around my requests.
