What this race demands
Leuven Legacy Gravel requires sustained endurance across 132 kilometers of racing with moderate climbing, compounded by the late-October European autumn conditions.
Aero and rolling speed
At 132 kilometers with under 1,000 meters of elevation gain, the course favors high average speeds and the ability to maintain a strong pace in a group or solo.
Late-season durability
An October date in Belgium presents a high likelihood of cool temperatures, damp surfaces, and potential rain, requiring robust gear management and thermal regulation over several hours.
Given a likely duration exceeding four hours, athletes should target an intake of 60 to 90 grams of carbohydrates per hour to maintain output through the finish.
