Mit követel ez a verseny

Desafío Urbión demands sustained high-mountain climbing capacity and technical descending ability over a 37 km distance with 2600 meters of elevation gain.

Climbing volume

Accumulating 2600 meters of elevation gain across 37 kilometers requires significant uphill endurance and muscular strength for prolonged ascents.

Technical terrain

Navigating high-mountain terrain and glacial lakes demands agility and footwork to manage rocky and uneven surfaces safely.

Late summer heat

A September event in Spain presents potential heat stress that must be managed through disciplined hydration and pacing.

Given the duration will likely exceed four hours for most participants, athletes should target 60 to 90 grams of carbohydrates per hour to maintain energy output.
