Megamarsch Stuttgart requires sustaining forward locomotion across 100 kilometers and 1,610 meters of elevation gain within a strict 24-hour time limit.
Ultra-Endurance Stamina
Covering 100 kilometers on foot demands exceptional aerobic capacity and extensive time-on-feet resilience to sustain a continuous pace over many hours.
Muscular Durability
Navigating hills, forests, and vineyards while accumulating 1,610 meters of climbing places prolonged eccentric and concentric load on the lower limbs.
Pacing Discipline
Completing the challenge within the 24-hour cutoff requires efficient energy management, minimal prolonged rest, and consistent forward movement through day and night.
Given the ultra-endurance duration well exceeding 2.5 hours, athletes should consume 30 to 60 grams of carbohydrates per hour alongside adequate hydration to maintain energy balance.
