The course requires negotiating 4850 meters of elevation gain over a 108 km distance, demanding significant vertical resilience and uphill efficiency.

Terrain durability

Rugged tropical terrain and historic cobblestone trails place continuous eccentric loading on the lower limbs throughout the ultra-distance effort.

Environmental management

Racing in the Atlantic Forest environment requires effective pacing and heat management suited to the tropical setting.

Given the extended duration, athletes should consume 60 to 90 grams of carbohydrates per hour to maintain energy output throughout the event.
