Aero and bike stamina
The 180 km cycling leg requires prolonged time trial positioning and sustained muscular endurance over a very long duration.
Marathon resilience
The final 42.2 km run tests structural durability and pacing discipline after an exhausting swim and bike.
A sustained intake of 60 to 90 grams of carbohydrate per hour is required across the extended duration to maintain output through the bike and run.
