Long-distance endurance
Covering 64 km on foot requires sustained cardiovascular capacity and muscular stamina over many hours of continuous movement.
Rugged terrain management
The Brecon Beacons setting presents challenging mountain terrain and variable upland conditions typical of UK military selection routes.
Aim for 60 to 90 grams of carbohydrates per hour to maintain energy levels throughout an endurance effort lasting multiple hours.
